Hayden Scott Capell was born Monday October 15th 2012 at 2:26 pm. He is 6lbs 7oz. and 18 1/2 inches long. He has redish brown hair, and big beautiful blue eyes.

38 Weeks
October 9th
Things are slowly progressing! He is definitely lower than he used to be and I feel it just about everytime I get up or sit down.
My doctors have told me to mentally prepare to go over my due date, and that is hard to do. With only two weeks left I am definitely getting anxious, but we know we've got the essentials so we'll be ready whenever he decides to make his appearance.

Baby Shower #3
We've definitely been blessed with tons of support when it comes to our little man. Darren's mom threw a shower for us in California, and my mom did the same down in Lake Ridge with everyone I grew up with. Darren was hoping someone up here in Ashburn would do one for everyone at church, but I wasn't really sure that would happen.
I loved my first visiting teachers in our ward, but one just had a baby in June and they both seemed to have disappeared by August. And I'm just not one to ask for something like that. Well, when I decided I wasn't going to sub this school year I asked our Relief Society president to switch me to a daytime Visiting Teaching route so I could maybe meet some people that I could actually do things with during the day after the baby comes. I ended up being assigned two of the best women I could have asked for.
They came for the first time at the very end of August, I think, and first off asked if anyone was doing a shower for me in the ward. I said no, and they immediately volunteered and said they'd be more than thrilled to do it. I seriously wanted to cry right there, in the middle of our visit. They had me think about it for a week, and I let them know the next Sunday that I would appreciate it so much.
Darren was beyond thrilled. Being in primary I haven't really gotten the chance to know a lot of the Relief Society sisters that well, and he was hoping this would help me do just that. We scheduled the shower for a brunch on October 4th, just last week, and I had a great time. I was super nervous going into it. I actually woke up in the middle of the night the night before not wanting to go and trying to figure out how I could get out of it. Hilarious, now :) Kim and Jenna did a fantastic job and I could not be more grateful for all of the work they did and the support the ladies in the ward showed us. They even invited a lady from our future ward to come and she did! It will be nice to have a friendly face when we start going in January. (On a side note, it turns out I know her cousin's wife, from high school. Small world!)

We got so much over the three baby showers, and are so grateful for all the love and support we have been shown. We will definitely miss our ward, but we're still in the same stake and actually will be meeting in the same building, right after them, so hopefully we'll see friends from time to time :)

37 weeks, October 4th
We've Moved!
That's right folks. We have a baby due in 2 weeks, and we've just moved. Definitely not the best timing, but it was for a fantastic reason and we love where we are now. There's a long story that goes with it, so I better start with that...
Right after we moved to Ashburn (a year ago) I was subbing at a local elementary school and working with a student teacher for the day. During lunch we were talking and she told me about a program the county has for middle income people that make too much for low income housing, but not enough to really thrive in the most expensive county in the country. Yea, we picked the wrong place to move to :)
I wrote the information down and told Darren about it later that day. We didn't do anything about it for months. I think we started looking into it in January, when we started getting fed up with our downstairs neighbors (seriously the loudest people we've ever heard, and they're downstairs!). The Affordable Dwelling Unit program has two parts - the purchase program, and the rental program. Darren talked to a guy he works with that is in the purchase program and found out we could be paying less for a mortgage than we did for rent, so we decided to go that route.
It took a few months to do all the back and forth with the county, but it ended up not working out for us to buy (not due to the county, but due to the banks). About that time we were thinking about trying the rental program anyway (it will save us the same amount of money every month), so we could save up more and be better off when we do buy a home. In May we got everything ready for the rental program and we had our names on the schedule for an intake appointment with the county on October 19. First off, I was shocked it was going to take 5 months for us to be seen, but I guess there's a lot of people trying to get into the program. Secondly, I looked at the date and realized it was only 5 days before my due date! I got a little worried that the baby would come around then and Darren wouldn't be able to make it to the meeting and we'd have to start all over again. Thirdly, our lease was up November 27th and we had to give 60 days notice before we could leave, so what in the world were we going to do.
So, Darren ended up calling the office back and letting them know about our baby situation and asking them what we should do. They kept us on the list for the October appointment, since that was the earliest available, but noted in our file that we would like to fill in for someone that dropped out of an earlier slot if possible. A week or two later Darren got a phone call from the ADU office and someone had indeed dropped out of the September intake appointment and we were in if we wanted the slot. Hooray!
The months of waiting were no fun, but lets face it, we've been waiting since February for this baby so we're used to it :) We had our intake appointment Thursday, September 6, turned in all of our paperwork, and were notified Tuesday, September 11, that everything was approved and our "Rental Certificate" would be coming in the mail within a few days.
We immediately started calling the complexes in the county that accept the certificate and put our name on their waitlists. We knew it would probably be a while before we heard anything back and we still had a few weeks before we had to let our complex know what we would be doing, so we just sat pretty and hoped something would come up.
A few of the complexes need to actually see our certificate before they would put our names on the list, so when we got that in the mail on the 14th Darren went around the next day and visited them. One complex said they possibly had an ADU apartment coming available in the next few weeks but they didn't have to know until the 27th, so they'd put our names down on the list. They suggested we call them on the 20th, but couldn't make any promises.
Now, the way this "list" works is that anyone who is interested in a specific apartment has their name and phone number written down. When an ADU apartment comes available they call everyone on the list and the first person to show up with their $200 deposit gets the apartment. Crazy!
Well, on September 18, I got a somewhat frantic call from Darren at about 10:30am. He had gotten a voicemail from the complex that said they might have something soon, and it turns out that apartment would be available on the 27th, and the first person down to their office would get it. He, of course, was at work, so I quickly called the complex back to see if it was still available. It was, so I threw on some clothes (I was still in my pajamas and unshowered) and ran out the door with our checkbook. The complex was only like 10-15 minutes away, but seemed to take forever to get there. I hurried in (well, as fast as I could go at 7 months pregnant) and ended up being the first one there! There was a smidge of drama for a second when it turned out they didn't make a copy of our certificate when Darren was in before and needed to have one, but the girl who had met with him a few days before had seen it and vouched for us, and the apartment was ours!!!
Things moved pretty quickly after that. Darren had to swing by after work that day to fill out some paperwork and we needed to figure out what we were going to do about our finances for the next two months with two apartments. As it turned out, our old complex and our new complex are owned by the same company, so we could actually "transfer" and only have to give 30 days notice and be in two apartments for only a matter of a few weeks. Now, these are the only sister complexes that work with this program, so it was definitely a blessing!
The next thing we had to tackle was the whole moving wards issue. I was dreading this. We had hoped to be able to stay in the ward, and our new complex was the only one in the program NOT in our ward boundaries. With the timing of the move coming so soon before we would be having a baby I was worried that we wouldn't get some of the help we might need from a new ward that we'd only been to a few times. We also didn't really want to bless him in a completely unfamiliar ward. We decided to meet with our bishop and talk it over with him. Well, Darren ended up being the only one to meet with him because I just couldn't handle it emotionally and sat in the parking lot the whole time :) We have a great bishop, and he ended up suggesting that we stay in our current ward until the new year, and then transition to our new one. He had to clear it with the other bishop as well, but they both felt this was a good idea for us and we feel great about it too!
After all that was cleared up, we got our keys on September 29th! We didn't have to be out of our old place until October 20th, so we decided to wait a week before moving everything and did that this past Saturday. Before we moved everything in I was able to get some pictures of our new place. It looks much homier now with all of our stuff in, but I'll get pictures up of that later when it's all put together the way we want it.

We are so happy with our new apartment, and definitely know things worked out the way they did because we were supposed to be here. It won't hurt to be saving $400-500 a month with a baby coming either! We are still getting settled in, but it's definitely going faster than it normally would since I'm in nesting mode and wanting everything to be done :)

Day Out on the Town
A week or so ago, on September 22nd, Darren and I took the entire day to ourselves and spent it out and about on a day-long date.
To make sure we didn't have any errands to run or anything that day, we/Darren did our grocery shopping the night before and came home with these!
I was so surprised, and loved that he thought about it. They definitely made my night and continued to make me smile for the next week.
The next day we got up, had pancakes for breakfast and then headed out for the day. Our first stop was the Leesburg Outlets for a little shopping. We hit up the Carters store and came away with more than we anticipated, but all at a great price. We were even able to find a cute outfit to bring our little man home from the hospital in.
By the time we finished there it was just about lunch time, so we headed into downtown Leesburg and stopped at Giovanni's NY Pizza. We went there last year for our anniversary, since it reminds both of us of a little pizza place we went to in Monterey on our honeymoon. We got a delicious, and huge, pepperoni pizza that we ate for days afterwards. It was SO good!
After lunch we went back to Ashburn and saw Trouble with the Curve at the local theater.
I saw a preview for this movie a month or so before it actually came out and knew Darren would want to see it, so we actually planned our day around seeing the movie :)
I loved the storyline, and it didn't hurt that Justin Timberlake was in it! Haha. I actually thought it was good and Darren really liked it as well.
After the movie we were both kinda wiped out, so we headed back to our apartment to relax for a while. We thought about going to dinner first, but we were both still stuffed from lunch so we put that off until about 6:30 and then headed to Olive Garden!
I loved that we were able to spend the day out together and not worry about getting lessons ready for Primary, grocery shopping or anything else. I know these chances will be fewer once the baby gets here, so I hope we can make the most of the little time we've got left!

36 Weeks Today!
35 1/2 weeks, September 22
So, I'm 36 weeks along today. Boy does it feel like it's been 36 months sometimes. Things are goin' pretty well still. I do find breathing a bit difficult sometimes though, since he's completely up in my ribs :) From now on I'll be seeing my doctor weekly. Yay....
Darren and I are getting everything ready to go, and I keep thinking of more things I want to get done before he gets here. Oh, and we're moving into a new apartment next week. That's a story for a completely different day, but it's actually a big blessing. Just maybe not so much with the timing. I'll let you know how it goes though!

Latest food craving: I had to stop at Chick-fil-A for some fries today after my doctor's appointment. I haven't had many cravings, but salty and chocolate are top of the list lately.

Worst thing about being pregnant: The toll it takes on my poor body. I swear I've been sore/in pain somewhere for the last 8 months.
Best thing about being pregnant: Feeling our little man move around. Even if he's in my pelvis or ribs. I love knowing he's in there and doin' well.
Are you more scared or excited: Excited, but also nervous of the whole getting him here process.
Happy or mostly moody: I'd like to think I've been mostly happy. I get crazy emotional though, but not really moody.

Consignment Sale
A week and a half ago Darren and I ventured out to our first kids' consignment sale to try and find some baby stuff at a cheaper price.
I wasn't quite sure how it was going to go, but I feel like we got a pretty good deal on what we came away with!

We got a swing (only used for 6 months!), Baby Bjorn, Bumbo, 5 board books, a baby monitor, and a nursing cover for $135. The swing was the most expensive at $65, but considering it goes for about $150 I was definitely okay with the price!
