California: Micke Grove Zoo

One thing I really wanted to do with while we were at Darren's parents', was head up to Micke Grove Zoo. It's not too far away, and just right for kids Hayden's age. We had some time to kill while we waited for Josh and Rae to show up, so we found a playground and Hayden had a blast.

Once Josh and Rae got there we headed inside. It's a really small, simple zoo, but it was just the right amount of animals and walking for us that day.

After we were done with the zoo we had a yummy picnic lunch outside and then headed home for naps and swimming. This is definitely something I hope we can do again the next time we are in town.

California: Hughson

We had the opportunity to head down to Hughson and visit my mom's parents and siblings twice during our trip. The first weekend we were in town Darren's family headed to Yosemite to go camping, but it was the only weekend my grandparents would be in town, so we decided to go down and visit them.

I'm really glad we did. Hayden still talks about the "Clarks".

We were able to go down again, for a few more days, after Eric and Jenny headed back to New Mexico. This time Hayden got to play with his Great-Aunt Trina and her lovely girls.

My grandparents' backyard is the best backyard ever. Seriously. Hayden could have played for days...

My cousin Carson was training some puppies, and they seemed to love tackling Hayden...

One perk of the trip down was that Hayden got to use this high chair:

It's pretty cool that my mom sat in it, I sat in it, and now Hayden has used it.

Trina sent Darren and I off to the movies one afternoon, and Hayden had a blast back at the house with her:

Our last day we headed over to the Fruit Barn to see the animals and play on their playground.

I was so sad to leave. Hughson will always have a special place in my heart, since it's where I was living when Darren and I met. I sure love all my Clark family and I'm so glad we get to visit every time we're at Darren's parents'!

California: Capell Reunion - July 4th

The 4th was so much fun this year. We started off the day by joining Sheila and the kids at their ward's pancake breakfast. Then we headed over to their house for the rest of the day.

We chatted, the kids played and swam, and we ate delicious food :)

Around dinner time we did a mini-Christmas, for those of us that came in from out of town. We gave our gifts to parents and siblings, and we got some to take home with us as well!

I cannot take credit for this, that goes to Jenny, but is it not the coolest thing ever?!

Grandpa had some cake after dinner, and Hayden was apparently ready for bed...

Once the littlest ones were down for the night we headed outside for fireworks!

It was a great 4th, all around.
