Birthday Party #2

Since we didn't have anyone over to celebrate on Hayden's actually birthday, we had a little celebration with my family on Saturday, since we were already down there for Halloween.

He loved spending time with his aunt, uncles, and grandparents. And they gave him some great presents!

We were all a little caked out at this point, but my parents made a Ghost Cake the day before so we cut him a piece and put two candles in it. He didn't know the difference and thought it was pretty cool that everyone was singing to him again.

October

Here are some random photos from October:

We've started going to the mall once a week or so. They just put in a brand new play area for toddlers and Hayden has a great time.

Just running around and actin' crazy...

He LOVES these goggles, and asked for his bear to have a diaper...

We found a new book series at the library this month. Hayden has been walking around with a fireman hat on saying "pirate gold, seven seas". It took me a few days, but I finally figured out where he picked that up!

This is how we do bubbles when it's too cold to go out on the deck:

Halloween

I had big plans for Halloween this year. A few months ago I put Hayden in a costume that his uncle had given him for Christmas last year. It fit perfectly, and I knew it still would come Halloween, so I started thinking of how we could do a family costume. I had it all worked out. Hayden would be Darth Vader, I would be Leia, and Darren would be Han Solo. Unfortunately, the closer it got to Halloween, the more Darren and I didn't want to go shopping or even dress up.

Luckily for us Hayden didn't voice any of the same concerns and he went with the original plan.

We knew there wouldn't be much trick or treating action in our apartment complex, and I wanted Hayden to have an "authentic" experience his first time, so we went and spent the weekend down at my parents'.

It took him a few houses to figure out how things worked, but then he was good to go. He had a great time!

Pumpkin Picking and Painting

Our Saturdays this month have filled up pretty quickly, but I really wanted to go get a pumpkin from the farm and not buy one at the store. We finally had the time on the 18th, so off we went!

We got there before the first wagon was ready to go out to the patch, so we headed inside the main store for some cider donuts and warm apple cider. It really wasn't too chilly so we ate ours outside and let Hayden wander around.

On our way to the wagon ride we came across this:

I had to get a picture :)

The whole way out to the patch Hayden was talking about "Traker Tippin". He has some Cars books and I guess the tractor that was pulling the wagon looked like the tractors from the book!

There were a bunch of pumpkins to choose from, so we took our time and just wandered around. Hayden loved having the freedom to run down the rows and tried to pick up almost every "punkin" he saw.

Darren looked for a while, but finally found a great one for us to take home. Bummer was, on the wagon ride back he noticed it had worms coming out the bottom. We were able to find another good one at the drop off area, so we still called it a good trip.

We wanted to also get a little one for Hayden, but they didn't have those out in the patches. Luckily they had them by the registers out front.

We procrastinated carving/decorating them for a while, and then realized that Halloween is tomorrow, so we had to do something about it tonight.

Instead of carving Hayden's, we broke out some water color paints and let him have at it. I really think he had a good time. We still haven't carved our big one, but that will happen eventually....

2 Years Old!

Height: 32"
Weight: 24 lb

Has a whole year really gone by already?! I can't believe that it has...

We started off this little guy's birthday with chocolate chip pancakes. One of his favorite things!

Later that morning we had some of his friends over to play. He loves these guys (and girl) and was so happy to have them over for a couple hours.

For dinner we had another Hayden favorite: Grabaloli. For those of you who do not speak "Hayden", that is Ravioli in English. He loved every bite of his dinner.

After dinner we opened some presents from Mom and Dad, and the cards he got in the mail.

When he finished with that, he had some play time while Daddy did the dishes, and then we had cake!!

He loved just about every minute of his big day. Thanks to everyone who called, texted or sent a card. He loves you all!
