Halloween/Trunk or Treat
Our ward Trunk or Treat was last night. I was so excited to go this year! I looked online and found an easy trunk decoration, and Darren put it all together for me.
Hayden was our little monster! It was fun to take him around to all the cars, even though he can't eat any of the candy. More for Mom and Dad!
One Halloween down, MANY more to come :)

1 Year!!
I can't believe a whole year has gone by already. I also can't believe what a slacker I've become on this blog. Someday I'll catch up...
At twelve months Hayden is: 20 lbs, 14 oz and 28 3/4" tall. He's staying strong between the 25th and 50th percentile for weight, and steady at the 15th percentile for height. We love our little munchkin!
He's quite comfy in 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers. He started walking just a few days before his birthday! I looked up one day while in the kitchen and watched him take a couple steps from the entertainment center towards his toys. I guess he just decided it was time to try! He usually lasts about 6-7 steps before he loses his balance and speed crawls the rest of the way. He's becoming more and more confident each day though, boy this is happening too fast.
Hayden has four teeth, two top and two bottom. His bottom molars are trying to come through, but that's been the case for about a month. His doctor also noticed that he's getting another bottom front tooth. It usually takes him two weeks or so before the tooth comes all the way through, so we'll see when that one makes its appearance :)
It is so fun to see Hayden's little personality come out (he definitely has an opinion these days...). He loves to play with his teddy bear, and his trucks. Mostly he just spins the wheels, but he's learning how to drive them around too :)
He is still a two naps a day kid. He goes down for a hour and a half at 9, and then down for another hour around 2. For a while there he was not taking his afternoon one, but we've worked that back in and Mommy is much happier.
He is a full 11 1/2 - 12 hour sleeper at night, and we are loving it! He goes down at 6:45pm and we usually don't hear him until close to 6:30 the next morning. He was going down at 6/6:15pm, but he started having issues with his afternoon nap, so we pushed his bedtime back and it has done wonders.
Now to the fun stuff!!
Hayden's birthday was on Tuesday! It was such a fun day. I had to get my flu shot that day, so we kinda stayed close to home, but had fun still. For dinner we had spaghetti and then chocolate cupcakes for dessert! He loved everything.
We knew he'd be quite the mess after dinner, so we actually did his presents before he ate so we could just dump him in the tub. He got a dump truck and some balls from Mom and Dad, Cody the Cub from Grandma & Grandpa Capell, and lots of other cards from aunts and uncles. Thank you to everyone who thought of Hayden on his birthday!
We had another party with my family and Darren's cousin Carolyn on Saturday, but I'll blog about that separately.
We love that Hayden joined our family, and although we miss our sleep, and sanity some days, we wouldn't change a thing :)

Party Time!
We had Hayden's big birthday party yesterday. I wanted it to be perfect, so I may have done more than needed, but we had fun.
The food spread, in addition to pizza...
One of my visiting teachers made his cake. I won her services in a Relief Society auction in August. Perfect timing! She made it match the plates and animal theme we had for the party.
He certainly enjoyed the pizza for dinner, but seemed to be more enthralled with the candle on the cake until he got to dig his hands into it.
Hayden got some fun presents from our family, and we are so grateful they were able to come up and celebrate with us. It's hard to believe he's already one!!
