Star Wars Blanket

So, after my sister got married in August, I decided that I wanted to do a quilt/blanket for her and Patrick for Christmas. They finally got it yesterday (haha) so I can blog about it now!

I looked all over for fun patterns and found a picture of a quilt that used these Star Wars designs from Andy Rash:

Darren and I sat down and picked out 9 characters to use, and got to work...way back in October. We cut 1.5" squares for each pixel thing in the picture and sewed them all together to create the character.

Then we sewed them on to a background piece, sewed all those together, quilted it, bound it, and sent it on its way!

I was actually sad to see it leave after working on it for 3 whole months. It was the biggest sewing project I've ever undertaken, and will probably stay that way for a while :) Trish and Patrick loved it though, so that made it worth it.
