Anyway, Darren had a job interview, so we couldn't head up with most everyone else on Friday morning. He got back about 1:30 so we headed up soon after that. We got to the campsite and met up with everyone else about 4 I think. We hung out for a bit and then decided to head off to walk the trail and see the old sequoias. It was a long walk, but I loved it. We stopped at almost every marker on the first half and took photos. I couldn't believe how huge the trees are/were.
After we finally found our way back to the car we headed back to the campsite for some memorable tin-foil dinners. My hamburger was pretty much as hard and dark as a hockey puck, but the potatoes and beans were pretty good. And of course, the s'mores. It wouldn't be camping without s'mores. We played a game of Acquire when the kids went down for bed, but had to leave soon after so we wouldn't have to make such a trek to the airport Saturday morning.
We had a great time, but wish we could've stayed the night with everyone else. We'll just have to make plans to go camping before the summer is over!
yay a post! somehow my blogroll didn't update with your last post, and I was thinking about you as I got up this morning, how it's been ages since I've heard what's up with you!
